time to find myself again

I've missed writing lately so I've decided it's time to get back to blogging after - wow - 7 years away from it! I came across a "30 Day Challenge" today & thanks to Google, I've decided to come up with my own 30 Day Challenge, comprised of various ideas from the other lists I've seen. So...DAY 1: Write about you

I've spent a lot of time hiding who I really am, not because I'm ashamed of it by any means, but because who I am surprises most anyone I meet. I've learned recently that a lot of people have this idea of who I am, but never really get to know the real me & the sad part is, I let them think whatever they want because it's easier than the questions, comments, awkward silences, etc., that come from knowing the truth. It's almost easier to keep the real me to myself because it's "safe".

Only for now, just the basics - you'll get to see more of "me" as I go through the 30 Day Challenge so I'll spare you for now.

My name is Lindsay, I'm 25-years-old & live in a suburb of Dallas. I've moved 16 times since I was 4-years-old & have never lived anywhere for more than 4 years at a time, although my family has bought/lived in the same house twice, 10 years & 5 moves apart. I was born in Colorado, but consider anywhere in Texas my "home". I've lived in 3 different states, went to 7 different elementary schools, 1 junior high school & 2 different high schools, actually graduating from the same high school that my parents met at in 1975!

I have 3 younger siblings that I adore & I'm so proud of the little adults they've become. My parents have had their ups & downs but after 37 years together, 28 years of marriage, 4 kids & 5 crazy dogs later, they're still going strong & happier than ever! I have one "furbaby" named Stella that I love to pieces - she's a 4-year-old black lab-pitbull mix shelter dog & the sweetest little buddy...she doesn't let her mama out of her sight Ü

I've been a tomboy since day 1 - my parents actually thought that I was going to be a boy, but surprise, haha! I had a blue nursery & even a boy's name until the day I was born - Benjamin John. My dad would sit me in his lap & we'd watch football & he'd move my arms like the referees - first down, false start, offsides, etc., which explains why I still love sports - playing & watching & can talk sports with the guys, no problem. I'm an avid Longhorns fan - call me a "t-shirt fan" because I didn't go to UT, but I really don't care, at this point, I'd be a "t-shirt fan" of any other team if I started rooting for them now. I'll always love the Colorado Avalanche & the Denver Broncos as well as the Houston Rockets, Texans & Astros. I enjoyed rooting on the Rangers last year but I can't say I'll root for the Mavericks, Stars or Cowboys, just because I'm in Dallas - sorry, haha! I've played soccer for 20 different teams (occasionally playing for 2-3 teams at once & I loved every minute of it) in over 20 years & I will play as long as possible. I love to run & would love to eventually be able to run a marathon.

There's so much more to me than just these things, but for now, I think I'll just wrap it up.

Cheers to the next 30 days & finding myself again!

♥Linz
