2013 Recap - Part 1

Get ready for picture & info overload! There's no method to this post...more a matter of writing about the highlights of 2013 as I remember them, haha! I'll attempt to go month-to-month, but I'm sure I'll forget something & it'll just get thrown in randomly :-P

~*JANUARY*~

Heather & Phillip got married!

~*FEBRUARY*~

February kinda sucked...I got the flu after Alex had finally recovered from it so that wasn't all that fun. Our first Valentine's Day was pretty low key, dinner at PFChangs & movie at home since I was still recovering from my flu. Yuck! 

Thanks to the flu, also had to walk the Hot Chocolate 5K, so I'm 0 for 2 on successfully doing that race, haha! I guess I technically ran it in 2012, but it was my first race, it was 17 degrees out with a windchill of -2 & I walked a majority of it because the cold made me wheeze like crazy, so it goes down as a FAIL in my book.

 

~*MARCH*~

March wasn't too bad, Meeshy & I decided to pick up another team & played futsal for a few seasons. I really enjoyed the different pace, skill & ability that it required to be successful on the field with futsal. I also broke my 15-month scoreless streak & ended up being one of the top scorers on the team...that didn't carry over to my indoor leagues though, but I'll take it!

Meeshy & I also ran the St. Paddy's Dash Down Greenville in our awesome tutus! I just signed up for the 2014 race so time to break back out the tutu!

~*APRIL*~

Mishy finally had Peanut...welcome to the world Miss Skyla! PS - I can't believe she's 9mos old already! PPS - my baby fever has yet to ease either - poor Alex, haha!

 

Erika got married! It rained really hard the entire weekend, but Erika was so calm & the whole thing still turned out beautifully!

We also ran the 2nd Annual Goat Race!

~*MAY*~

I turned 27...I can't believe how fast my 20's are flying by! It seems like just yesterday I was freaking out about turning 25 & getting ready to move to Dallas not long after...now I'm about to turn 28! Alex surprised me on my birthday with a trip to the spa for a nice, long massage & relaxing day of just the 2 of us. I really do love that man! 

Oddly enough, this seems to be one of the only pictures I took in May, haha! We had an outdoor game the first week of May where the temperature at game time, in DALLAS, was 43 with a windchill of 30 & they didn't cancel it! This is how I showed up to the game & I have ZERO shame for it either, haha!

~*JUNE*~

Hello MustDash 5K!

 

This was another race I couldn't run thanks to my wonderful stress-fractured shin...took nearly 12 weeks for this beautiful bruise to go away! 

Thankfully I'm healed but that was a miserable few weeks, to the point of my leg throbbing at work because it wasn't elevated. No fun at all!

There was time spent with the girlies of course - Leighton's first carousel ride! She was terrified & I got some serious vertigo...I've found I'm too old for spinning rides, even if they do go slow, haha! And Kinlee's mouth stayed nice & blue from the tie-dye ice cream for an entire day after this!

I still wasn't fully healed for the Peace, Love, Run 5K at the end of the month, but I also had Stella running her first race too, so I had a great excuse: Stella was a trooper but her little black body got so hot & I had to drag her across the finish line, haha! She ran the first mile & a half with me though...that just happened to be the part that was completely in the sun, so she was worn out early.

 

I'll stop there for now since I'm halfway through, haha! 

Happy Friday! I'm off to the Ranch again for another wedding weekend for two of my favorite people: Kyle Ray & Ashley! I realized I don't have a single picture with Ash...that will have to change this weekend, but Kyle has been my friend my entire life! We're exactly 1 month apart to the day & we've been friends ever since! Happy Lewis Wedding Weekend!
