I've slacked the last 4 days with my posts, but I have an excuse - I was at my childhood friend's wedding in San Antonio & well, the blog was really the absolute last thing on my mind, haha!
The newlyweds: Patrick & Kelly Brown
I've known Kelly since about 1st grade in Houston, Texas. We've lived in Houston, Denver & Midland together through our dads' jobs & although my family left Midland in 2000, Kelly & I have kept in touch all these years :) On Saturday, I got to witness her marry her best friend in one of the sweetest ceremonies I've ever been to. MRS Kelly Ann, I'm so happy for you!
Anyway, back to today's blog topic: my dream wedding. I'm not one of those girls who has been planning her wedding since she was a little girl. But one thing is for sure: it will be small, laid back & maybe the only thing I absolutely want - this venue: Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas, the heart of the Hill Country. Obviously, this isn't me, but this video shows the grounds & the venue & if you know me, you know why I fell in love with this place (after only seeing it in a magazine a few months ago):
I just want something simple. Don't be surprised if my wedding day consists solely of our (as in whoever I marry) families & maybe a few of our closest friends...then maybe a month or two later, we'll throw a big "reception" to celebrate, after we've had a little bit of time to enjoy just being married :) There's no reason to spend tens of thousands of dollars on something that lasts a few hours when a marriage is supposed to last a lifetime...don't get me wrong, I love going to weddings & enjoy all the fun at the receptions, but for me, I want to be able to enjoy & actually remember my day without having to deal with all the craziness of whether or not we have enough seats or if someone got too drunk & passed out in the bathroom, that kind of thing.
Well, I guess that's enough for now!
