Well, I had every intention of writing a follow up post after my Spring post, but as usual, things just got busy & it got pushed back 3 weeks, haha! But, I'm back & you're in for another long post - hopefully I'll be posting more than once every few weeks this time!
First of all, it's April 10. It's also freezing cold & raining. In Dallas. In APRIL. I don't know where the Weather Channel App is seeing the sun, but from where I'm sitting, it's all gray & rainy & I can't even see downtown Dallas, which is less than 10 miles away & there's plenty of thunder going on too...
Anyway, let's see, what has happened since March 20?
Alex & I didn't end up getting to watch the girls for the weekend like we were planning, but we did still get to spend some time with them & give Kristin a much needed mama break. These girls love their Ali so much & it melts my heart seeing him with them...he's going to be one great Daddy someday!
Sadly, Kristin's trip to Austin for an Army Wives Mud Run had to be cancelled since 2 of the girls she was headed down there with got the flu. So we came over & made dinner for them instead...Leighton clearly thought Alex's chicken & rice was a big hit...she cleaned the pot & the spoon of any leftovers :)
You'd never know that she was recovering from an ear infection that weekend either, haha!
What else is new...oh, my "un-bruised" streak is over. I went 8 weeks without any bruises & in the course of a week, got multiple bruises on my leg & a nice, fat nose from the line drive to the face with a soccer ball from one of the biggest guys on the other team. Don't worry, I took it like a champ - no bloody nose or black eyes, no concussion, not even a stoppage in play, just kept right on going while the guys just stared, trying to figure out how in the world I was OK, haha!
You can definitely see the purple bruising through my makeup in that picture, haha!
Easter was spent at the ranch & was a nice little getaway for a few days for me. Alex had to work since the other VP was called in for jury duty the day after she got back from a week long vacation...my poor guy, he works so hard & never gets a much needed break. So it was 3 days with me, my mama & daddy & a day with my little sister, Syd :)

| Got to finally have some Jackie Time! My parents have lived in SA for a year now & it's only the first time since I moved to Dallas almost 2 years ago that I've seen Jackie again! |

| Dad got a new toy...of course, I had to test it out - Stella really wanted to ride, but I don't think that would've ended well for either one of us. |

Major storms blew in Easter night...![]() |
Most importantly, the best thing that's happened since March 20? PEANUT WAS BORN! Say hello to Skyla Renaye, born April 4! She's absolutely beautiful & looks just like her mommy!
Well, I have another busy few weeks ahead of me, starting with the Goat Run this Saturday...sadly they gave me the wrong size shirt for the race, haha! Instead of the Women's Small, they gave Michelle & I the youth sizes...unfortunately I already wore mine to work out before I really paid attention to the fact that they were the youth sizes, so I probably won't try to get the right size, but maybe it'll turn into a Pinterest project for me instead!
Here's to another fun race in new tutus!
Have a great week - I promise to post more soon!
