Hmmm...how about a moment when He was obviously working in my family's life?
In March 2005, my parents decided to separate. I was away at TLU & had to deal with the new state of our family alone. My dad had moved out for what was supposed to be just temporary - a few weeks at most, but in November 2005, my mom decided to rent a place nearby & the separation continued. By the time I had moved back to Colorado in May 2006, the separation was still on & my siblings & I were just in limbo, waiting for our parents to make a decision one way or another on how we were going to go forward. For the 4 kids, we felt like we only had each other & at the time, that's all we needed. We've always been a pretty close family, but during this time, we had the chance to grow even closer. In the fall of 2007, my mom filed for divorce...and my dad fought it. He wasn't ready to give up on their marriage or our family. In July 2008, with the help of an amazing family friend, Jim Kirschner, my parents decided to meet TOGETHER to see if there was anything worth saving in their marriage...and it worked! God was absolutely working that day at Cherry Hills Church because the divorce was called off! Nearly 4 years later (7 years after the whole ordeal began), our family is whole & in the process of moving to San Antonio, Texas. Of course, nothing's perfect & there are still the struggles that come with any marriage, but knowing what they've been through, they can withstand anything.
