Day 10: Nature

This place has close to 50 years of Froi fam history tied to it & I guarantee there will continue to be more memories made at Cross Creek in the generations to come.
My dad & his brothers started coming here when they were in elementary school with their boy scout troops & ever since then, our family makes regular trips out here to enjoy the seclusion.

A few years ago, we noticed that the parking lot at the trail head was more crowded than usual, which is unfortunately starting to become a fairly regular occurrence there, but we figured that "our spot" would still be safe because it's not exactly an easy place to find unless you know where you're going. Sure enough, we make our way down to our favorite spot & there's a few tents set up...which of course, completely bummed my dad out because, well, it was his spot first, haha! We head down to the water anyway & as we're hikin in, one of the campers pops their head out...and it's my dad's cousin, Tom, haha! We hadn't seen Tom in years & just so happen to run into him in one of the least travelled places in Colorado by chance.

We've introduced very few people to this trail because we want to be able to continue to enjoy the solitude, but with views like this, it's hard to keep it a secret for too long & our friends  love it too!

I'm thankful for God's amazing ability to create such a naturally beautiful place like Cross Creek.

  1. This place does my heart good Linz. You capture the "specialness" so well here. One thing for sure - those that we have taken up there return time and again - just like us. It's just such an incredible place. Thanks for sharing.
