Day 27: Daily Routine

My routine is pretty different between weekdays & weekends, but I'm sure that probably goes without saying for most people...with that being said, here's mine - I'll just stick with my weekday "routine":
  • 5:45: alarm #1 goes off & Stella starts crying...hit SNOOZE.
  • 6:30: alarm #2 goes off & Stella starts crying...hit SNOOZE.
  • 7:15: alarm #3 goes off & Stella keeps crying...GET UP.
  • Shower.
  • Walk Stella or moreso walk 2 steps, stop & sniff, walk 2 more steps, stop & sniff - not marking, just sniffing...get mad & she finally does her business after about 20 minutes of this.
  • Feed Stella & try to keep bouncing dog from sending her food bowl filled with food flying through kitchen.
  • Fight with Stella to get into her kennel - this consists of Stella running to furthest corner from kennel & going completely limp...ever tried to pick up 40lbs of limp, dead weight on someone without armpits? Ya. Always fun.
  • FINALLY make it to work - thankful for my company providing us with good, free Caramel Vanilla coffee everyday from the Keurig :)
  • Answer phone calls & write letters to owners with instructions on what we need to transfer interest AGAIN
  • LUNCH - drive home, walk Stella - Stella insists on sniffing the same spots as on our morning walk, being sure to mark those spots as her own this time, make quick lunch to take back to work
  • Back to work for more phone calls & letters to owners, maybe a few new well setups, address changes, etc. - work until around 6:30 most nights, drive home
  • Greeted by sobbing dog freaking out in her kennel to the point where I can't undo the latch until she calms down...proceed to get clawed to death as though I've been gone for days. Attempt to get leash on bouncing dog for walk.
  • FINALLY get leash on, walk lasts about 2 seconds, Stella gets too cold, pees & we're back inside.
  • Make dinner while Stella is never more than 6 inches from me. Put baby gate up to keep her out of kitchen - enter: sobbing dog because she can't be close.
  • Finish making dinner, sit on couch to eat & watch TV...Stella sits in lap & growls when I push her off. Stella sits next to me with paws in my lap & growls when I move them. Stella sits next to me & breathes in my ear waiting in hopes that food will magically come her way. No luck. Gets mad & willingly puts herself in her kennel with the door wide open, staring at me from her spot in the kitchen.
  • Finish dinner & do dishes, Stella licks dishwasher.
  • Have Mama-Stella time snuggling on the couch. Lately, she's had to share me with Alex but she still proceeds to put herself between Alex & I more often than not, haha!
  • Last potty walk of night means back to sniffing - not marking - everything in our path. Thankfully, Stella gets cold fast & keeps sniffing to minimum, does her business & we're back home before we get too cold.
  • Fight with Stella to get into her kennel, much like our struggle in the morning even though she just put herself in there on her own before she knew it was bedtime & bolted from kennel again. Cover kennel with comforter so she thinks it's night time, even after the sun comes up in the morning...doesn't always work but we try anyway!
  • Brush teeth.
  • Get in bed.
  • EVENTUALLY sleep :)
Yup, that's my life...add a few nights of soccer games in there & those add some excitement into our daily routine with a little more comedy, haha! And since this is a 30 day picture blog...even though she drives me nuts, I love this little monster ♥
